Six Bottle Set — Cake, Winter, The Forest, Tokyo, Ice Cream & Spices
Glenmorangie’s “A Tale of…” series is one of the distillery’s most imaginative ongoing projects, pairing an evocative story with a distinct cask combination for each limited annual release. This set brings together six full expressions from the series — A Tale of Cake, A Tale of Winter, A Tale of the Forest, A Tale of Tokyo, A Tale of Ice Cream, and A Tale of Spices — each built around its own cask finish and flavour concept, from Tokaji dessert wine to Mizunara oak. Collected together as a complete run, this is a rare opportunity to acquire six sold-out limited editions from Glenmorangie’s storytelling collection in one set.
Sold as a complete set only — no splitting.

Bottles in This Set
- A Tale of Cake — Tokaji Dessert Wine Cask Finish. A sweet, multi-layered whisky lusciously reminiscent of cake.
- A Tale of Winter — Marsala Wine Cask Finish. A whisky swirling with a flurry of wintery aromas and flavours.
- A Tale of the Forest — Crafted from barley kilned with woodland botanicals. A whisky born over a thousand walks in the forest.
- A Tale of Tokyo — A marriage of whisky aged in Mizunara, bourbon and sherry casks. A whisky as full of delicious contradictions as Tokyo itself.
- A Tale of Ice Cream — Aged in high vanillin and bourbon casks. A whisky dreamed up in an ice cream parlour.
- A Tale of Spices — Marrying four cask types for a mosaic of flavours. A rich, spiced expression built from four distinct cask influences.
Heritage & Detailing
Founded in 1843 in Tain on Scotland’s east coast, Glenmorangie distils its spirit in the tallest copper stills in Scotland, giving the new-make a lightness and purity that has become the distillery’s signature. Under Director of Whisky Creation Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie has built a reputation for adventurous cask experimentation, pushing beyond traditional bourbon and sherry wood into wine casks, exotic oak, and unconventional flavour pairings.
The “A Tale of…” series is where that experimentation is at its most playful, with each annual release built around a narrative concept — a place, a season, a memory — translated into a specific cask combination. Once a release sells out, it does not return, making a complete run like this six-bottle set increasingly difficult to assemble.
Condition & Presentation
All six bottles are sealed and unopened, presented in their original individually illustrated packaging exactly as pictured.
Why RareFind Rates This Piece Rare & Collectable
RareFind rates this as an exceptionally rare set. Each “A Tale of…” release is a sold-out limited edition that Glenmorangie does not reissue, so assembling six matching, unopened bottles from the series as a complete run is genuinely difficult to replicate. The set spans some of the series’ most distinctive cask experiments — from Tokaji dessert wine to Mizunara oak — making it a standout for any serious Glenmorangie or single malt collection. For collectors chasing this series, this is a rare chance to acquire the run in one purchase.
