1 in stock
This set brings together two age statements from The Macallan’s core Sherry Oak range: the 12 Year Old and the 18 Year Old, presented here as the 2022 Annual Release. Both are matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez, Spain, developing their rich natural colour and flavour entirely through the wood rather than any additive. The 18 Year Old Annual Release is only bottled once a year in limited volumes, making a matched pairing with the 12 Year Old a genuinely well-rounded way to acquire two distinct expressions of Macallan’s signature sherry-cask style in one purchase.

- 18 Year Old (2022 Annual Release) — Sherry Oak Cask, matured in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez. A full-bodied palate of mature oak, ginger and raisin, with a light mahogany hue built up over eighteen years.
Heritage & Detailing
Founded in 1824 at Easter Elchies on the banks of the River Spey, The Macallan is one of the most collected names in single malt Scotch, built on a longstanding commitment to sherry-seasoned oak as the defining influence on its whisky. The distillery sources its own oak casks directly and has them seasoned with sherry in Jerez de la Frontera before they ever touch spirit — a practice The Macallan credits as “the single greatest contributor to the quality, flavours and distinctive aromas” of its whisky.
The Sherry Oak range is the purest expression of that philosophy, built entirely around 100% sherry-seasoned casks rather than a mix of wood types. The 18 Year Old is released annually in limited volumes, with each year’s batch showing subtle variation, making this pairing with the more widely available 12 Year Old a genuinely representative snapshot of the range at two different stages of maturity.
Condition & Presentation
Both bottles are sealed and unopened, presented in their original packaging exactly as pictured.
Why RareFind Rates This Piece Rare & Collectable
RareFind rates this as a highly collectable pairing. The 18 Year Old is an Annual Release bottled in limited volumes each year, making it considerably harder to source than the standard core range once that year’s allocation sells through. Pairing it with the 12 Year Old gives a direct side-by-side comparison of Macallan’s 100% sherry-cask style at two different ages, from a distillery renowned as one of the most collected names in single malt Scotch. A well-rounded set for any serious Macallan collection.
