14 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky — The Stories Collection “The story of Ian Miller using smoke from Speyside peat for one week of the year.”

The Balvenie is famous across Speyside for its honeyed, fruit-forward style — and for being completely unpeated. But for one extraordinary week each year, distillery manager Ian Miller and Malt Master David Stewart turn everything on its head and distill an entirely peated single malt from Speyside barley. The resulting spirit is then aged for 14 years in ex-bourbon casks before being bottled non chill-filtered at 48.3% ABV. The Week of Peat is the second release in The Balvenie’s celebrated Stories Collection — a series honouring the remarkable characters and traditions behind the distillery. It is Balvenie as you have never tasted it before: the distillery’s signature honeyed sweetness wrapped in a layer of gentle, earthy Speyside smoke.

Why It’s a RareFind
  • The Week of Peat is one of the most genuinely rare concepts in Scotch whisky — a peated expression from a distillery that produces peated spirit for just one week every year. That single week of production, aged for 14 years, yields an extremely limited volume that is released once and not restocked. As the second release in The Balvenie’s Stories Collection, it also carries the prestige of a narrative-driven limited series that collectors actively seek to complete. Balvenie’s reputation for exceptional quality and its loyal global fanbase ensure strong secondary market demand for rare releases. For those who love Speyside whisky but want something entirely unlike any other Speyside expression, the Week of Peat is irreplaceable — and its scarcity only grows as bottles are consumed worldwide.
