Return & Refund Policy

Introduction
This Return & Refund Policy explains the circumstances under which Rare Find SA (“RareFind”) accepts returns or issues refunds. Because our products are exclusive, collectible, and often of high value, we maintain strict policies to protect both buyers and sellers.
General Policy
All sales through RareFind are considered final. We generally do not accept returns, cancellations, or provide refunds except where required by law or under the specific exceptions outlined below.
Exceptions to the General Policy
You may request a return or refund in the following cases:
- Proven misrepresentation of an item’s description or condition
- Authentication error confirmed by RareFind’s specialists
- Defective, unsafe, or materially different product as defined by the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), 2008
Order Cancellations
Due to the nature of rare and collectible items, orders cannot be cancelled once confirmed. This applies to both direct purchases and auction wins, to ensure fairness to all buyers and sellers.
Consignment & Auction Orders
Items sold on consignment or through auctions are final sale and cannot be returned or refunded, unless:
- An authentication error is confirmed by RareFind’s specialists; or
- A proven misrepresentation of the item’s description or condition is identified.This policy protects the integrity of the consignment and auction process.
Process for Returns
If you believe your purchase qualifies for return under the above exceptions:
- Contact us within 7 days of receiving the item at support@rarefindsa.co.za with full details.
- Provide supporting evidence (photos, certificates, or documents where applicable).
- We will review the request and notify you of approval or rejection.
- If approved, items must be returned in the original condition and packaging.
- Refunds will be processed to the original payment method once the return is confirmed.
Non-Returnable Items
The following are not eligible for return:
- Items damaged after delivery
- Items altered or tampered with by the buyer or third parties
- Personalised or customised products
- Items sold on an ‘as-is’ basis with full disclosure provided at purchase
Shipping Costs for Returns
Where a return is accepted due to misrepresentation, authentication error, or CPA requirements, RareFind will cover reasonable return shipping costs. In all other cases, the buyer is responsible for shipping costs.
Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Return & Refund Policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
